Institut d’art contemporain

The creation of a visual identity for the Institut d’art contemporain (IAC) in Villeurbanne, together with the overall communication graphics, was undertaken between 2008 and 2016. In this complete rethinking of visual presentation, the director Nathalie Ergino wanted to have the full name of the institute appearing as well as the initials IAC by which it is generally known. With this in mind, instead of a logo, a moveable system was designed where the positions of the three letters can be altered, adapting themselves to the available space and forming part of the page’s composition. The studio has developed this identity over a period of more than eight years, using it on a wide variety of communication supports, where the format, folding and composition of each invitation card has led to ever-new experimentation.
