First appearing in 2007, Zones is a collection of books on humanities and cultural studies published by Éditions de la Découverte and edited by Grégoire Chamayou. In a desire to shake up old reading habits we treated the cover in a way that would question the idea of the book as object, the title, subtitle, author’s name, barcode, ISBN and price are mirrored on both front and back covers. The text of the introduction begins on the front cover and finishes on the back cover, obliging the reader to handle the object. The image, valuable as a document, is the only element to be wrapped around three sides on the book (front, spine and back).
